Help 10-year old Evelyn Chuah regain her life and dreams.

BUBS Welfare Outreach is initiating a new medical aid donation drive to help 10-year-old Evelyn Chuah. Evelyn was born with the rare genetic disorder Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), or brittle bone disease, which means her bones are extremely fragile and prone to breaking. Not only her bones, but all the soft tissues in her body, from ligaments to blood vessels, to her skin, are extremely fragile. OI is currently incurable, but with lifelong treatment and management, people with brittle bone disease can live long, productive and successful lives.

Evelyn's father, Francis Chuah is a member of BUBS. 100% of the donations collected through BUBS will be channeled to them for Evelyn's medical bills, which currently stand at SGD250,000 (MYR773,100).

Evelyn is currently warded in NUH Singapore, for 5 weeks of pre-operative Halo Traction treatment before her spine surgery on March 26 to correct her life threatening scoliosis. Her parents have had to relocate to Singapore for the next 6 to 7 months to be with Evelyn throughout her treatment and initial recovery, which adds to their financial burden as they are unable to work during this time. Unfortunately, they were unable to find a medical solution for her in Malaysia.

Francis and Monica are urgently seeking public donations to cover the cost of Evelyn's medical fees in Singapore, of which they still need to raise SGD100,000. NUH expects full payment to be made this week. Tax exempt receipts will be issued upon request.
