Wesak Day commemorates three important events in the life of the Buddha: his birth as Prince Siddhartha, his Enlightenment and his passing away at the age of eighty.
Let us continue to make an offering of lights and flowers on this auspicious day for our well-being and happiness.
Light represents wisdom. The Offering of Light symbolizes wisdom and an offering to dispel the ignorance of our minds, burning away our mental afflictions of desire, anger, greed, jealousy, pride as well as negative energy.
Flowers represent impermanence as the fragrance and beauty of these flowers eventually become scentless and withered. Offering flowers serves as a reminder to contemplate the impermanence of all conditioned things.
To commemorate all your offerings and to upkeep the tradition, we arrange a single offering of light and flowers at the Buddhacetiya Hall in Uttama Bodhi Vihara.
If you are not able to physically visit the Vihara on Wesak Day to make the offerings personally, you can still make an offering by clicking the button “WESAK OFFERING” and filling in the Wesak Offering form with your payment, and we will make the offerings on your behalf.
Please state the name of the donor or the name of IMO (In Memory Of) and a message.
Payment for Offering is available through bank transfer and Touch 'n Go eWallet.
