Venerable Ajahn Kusalo is a distinguished senior monk in the Thai Forest Tradition. A native of New Zealand, Ajahn Kusalo took full ordination in 1992 under the guidance of Luang Por Sumedho. He has a wealth of experience, having spent six years training at Amaravati Monastery in the UK, and eight years in Canada, where he played a central role in establishing Tisarana Buddhist Monastery near Ottawa.
Ajahn Kusalo returned to his home country to serve as the Abbot of Bodhinyanarama Monastery in Wellington for over a decade, guiding the monastic community until he retired from that role in 2024. He is known for his deeply practical approach to the Dhamma, emphasizing mindfulness and meditation in everyday life.
