We are pleased to announce that Luang Por Thawin and Luang Por Sathian will be facilitating a 1-Day Meditation Retreat, with Venerable Ajah Dton serving as the English translator. Members and friends are warmly encouraged to participate.

BIOGRAPHY

Luang Por Thawin Thavaro 

Abbot of Wat Pa Nong Kung

Luang Por Thawin was ordained on 23 June 1984 and trained in the Forest Tradition lineage of Luang Pu Chah. He practised at Wat Nong Pah Pong under the guidance of Luang Por Liem and had the rare opportunity to personally attend to Luang Pu Chah on several occasions, gaining profound inspiration from the great master. Luang Por Thawin deepened his practice through training in various forest monasteries across Thailand, including Wat Pa Bodhiyana and other renowned meditation centres. 

In 1998, he was entrusted by Luang Por Liem to establish a new monastic residence, which later developed into Wat Pa Nong Kung. He holds several important ecclesiastical appointments, including Sub-district Head Monk (2022), Personal staff member of Luang Por Liem (2024), receiving the title Phra Khru Vinaithorn Thawin Thavaro, Appointed Preceptor (Upajjhaya) in 2025.

Luang Por Sathian Kantasilo

Abbot of Wat Non Samroeng 

Luang Por Sathian received full ordination on 8 July 1984 in Wat Nong Pah Pong. He spent his early years diligently studying the Dhamma and Vinaya while cultivating meditation practice within the Forest Tradition of Luang Pu Chah.

Throughout his training, he practised in several forest monasteries, including Wat Pa Bodhinyana and Wat Phu Tham Chang, deepening his meditation under respected teachers. He later returned to Wat Nong Pah Pong to continue his practice within the core monastic community. In his tenth year as a monk, Luang Por Sathian was entrusted by Luang Por Liem with the responsibility of developing Wat Pa Dong Mueang Sai in Sisaket Province, where he served for seven years. He was subsequently appointed as the Acting Abbot of Wat Non Samroeng and in 2006, he was formally installed as Abbot.

Luang Por Sathian had the rare opportunity to serve as a personal attendant to Luang Pu Chah. In recognition of his dedication and service, he was awarded the Royal Ecclesiastical Title Phra Khru Sathit Udomkhun in 2012. He is widely respected for his humility, composure and strict adherence to monastic discipline. Known as a monk of few words, he exemplifies calmness, integrity and unwavering respect for his teachers.
