Pindapata (Alms-Round) Route & Guidelines
The first major highlight of Merdeka Blessings MahāSaṅghikadāna 2026 is the Pindapata (Alms-Round)! Over 69 Bhikkhus (monks) will participate in this ancient tradition, giving the community a rare opportunity to cultivate generosity.
Pindapata Schedule & Flow:
Start Time: 7:30 AM sharp (beginning near the school main entrance).
Line Up: Please cooperate with the volunteers and line up in an orderly manner.
Guidelines: What to Offer
YES — Place into the Alms Bowl:
- Dry, individually-packed food & drinks, Ready-to-eat items such as biscuits, sachet drinks, nuts, cereal packets, etc.
- Health & Wellness: Medicines and health supplements.
- Requisites: Daily necessities such as toiletries.
NO — DO NOT place into the Alms Bowl:
- Cooked Rice or Prepared Cooked Food: Please bring these directly to the FOOD DANA COUNTER instead.
- Raw / Uncooked Food
- Money / Cash (Monks do not accept money in their alms bowls)
Reminder:
If you bring cooked food, please head to the FOOD DANA COUNTER upon arrival so our volunteers can organize it for the monastic meal.
