 What are the benefits of being a member of BUBS? 

  • Members’ children will be eligible to attend Dhamma School.

  • Members will be eligible to attend the General Meeting and to be nominated as an EXCO member of BUBS.

  • BUBS conducts regular Dhamma and community-related activities that are broadcast to members subscribed to our email mailing list and social media channels weekly.

How to apply for membership?

  • Applicants are to submit the Membership Application Form at the Sunday Counter. (Forms available for download from the website or hard copy obtainable at the Sunday Counter).

  • BUBS Office/Secretariat will process the application and inform the applicants via email to attend the Induction and Buddhism Course sessions and the dates the courses will be held.

  • Once an applicant has completed the prerequisites above, the BUBS Office/Secretariat will inform the applicant via email when the membership application is approved. 

  • Membership will be activated upon membership fee payment within 3 months of receiving the email. Payments for the membership fee can be made online or at Sun Counter. If payment is online, applicants need to inform BUBS Office upon payment made (via email). 

How many lessons must I attend for the Induction course?

  • The Induction course is a half-day session, followed by the Introduction to Buddhism Course which is also a half-day session.

What is your objective for implementing the Induction course?

  • To give every aspiring member the space to decide whether they share our vision and objective and are comfortable with it.

Can I attend your activities if I am not a member?

  • Yes, you can. All religious activities in BUBS are open to non-muslims.

How much are the membership fees? 

  • Annual – RM50 (per calendar year)

  • Life – RM300 (one-time payment)

    * Benefits are the same for Annual and Life Member

What is the difference between being a Member and a Non-Member?

  • The main differences are:

    • You would not be able to exercise any voting rights at our General Meeting

    • You would not be able to enrol your children in the Dhamma School as the DS is only for children of parents who are members.

    • Priorities shall be given to members in some activities.

I am on an Annual Membership, can I become a Life Member? 

  • Yes.

  • Member to make payment for Life Membership fees (RM300). This can be done at the Sunday Counter. Sunday Counter will inform the BUBS Office/Secretariat. The office will update the Membership System (ICPOS) on the status of the membership accordingly.

I am on an Annual Membership. Can I check if my payment is outstanding?

  • To check from the list of outstanding membership fees placed at the Sunday Counter (the Office will generate at the beginning of the year and send out email reminders to pay fees in January)

For Pending Members/Applicants. Can I check the status of my membership application? 

  • Exco Member/Sunday Counter to check with the Secretariat/BUBS Office on the membership application status. 

  • Secretariat/BUBS Office will communicate with the applicant.

I have participated in Dhamma activities elsewhere, do I still need to go through the Induction and Buddhism Courses to be a BUBS member?

  • Applicants are to submit a Request for Exemption form and provide reasons for seeking exemption and evidence to support the case.

  • Secretariat/BUBS office will inform the applicant if the request for exemption is approved by Exco. 

  • Applicant is required to attend at least the Induction Course, as the Induction Course is a mandatory pre-requisite for membership.
