Luang Por Anek Yasadinno, the abbot of Wat Pah Sai Ngam was born in 1946 in Det Udom District, Ubon Province, Thailand. Luang Por Anek received ordination as a Buddhist monk on June 5, 1967 at his local village monastery. In 1968, he moved to Wat Nong Pah Pong and practised under the tutelage of Luang Por Chah Subhaddo. After training himself for many years under the guidance of Luang Por Chah, he was eventually entrusted with the position of abbot of Wat Pah Sai Ngam which he built from ground up and where he has lived from its very first day until now. Since 1991, Luang Por Anek has established many social welfare projects in Thailand. Some of the projects include: buffalo and cow welfare fund; community welfare Dhamma Compassion fund and Sangha medical fund.
Tan Ajahn Kevali was born in Germany in 1968. In 1997 he was ordained as a novice monk at Wat Pah Nanachat, the International Buddhist Monastery in the Theravada Forest Tradition. Wat Pah Nanachat was established by Luang Por Sumedho in 1975 under Venerable Ajahn Chah's guidance to provide English-speaking people the opportunity to practice and train to become Buddhist monks in the traditional way of the Thai Forest Tradition. It is in walking distance to Wat Nong Pah Pong, close to the village of Bahn Bung Wai in Northeast Thailand. In 1998 Ajahn Kevali was fully ordained as a Bhikkhu by Phra Rachapavanavikrom, Luang Por Liem Thitadhammo, the abbot of Wat Nong Pah Pong. On the 5th of December 2014, Ajahn Kevali was given his monk's title by the King of Thailand to be Phrakhru Ubonbhavanaviteht. Ajahn Kevali has been the abbot of Wat Pah Nanachat since 2007. He can speak Thai, English, and German fluently.
