He is a popular lay Dhamma speaker and Past President of BMS Youth Section, Kota Tinggi Buddhist Society, Metta Lodge Johor Bahru, Kuantan Buddhist Association and Bandar Utama Buddhist Society. Datuk Charlie was also the former Secretary General of Buddhist Missionary Society Malaysia. Currently, he is actively sharing the Dhamma and leading Dhamma propagation activities.

Biodata:

Venerable Professor K.L. Dhammajoti, having retired from the Centre of Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong in 2012, founded the Buddha-Dharma Centre of Hong Kong (BDCHK) and collaborated with the University of Kelaniya to offer Buddhist Studies programs. In 2020, he established the Vidyacarana Buddhist Resource (VBR) in Malaysia, continuing the collaboration with the University of Kelaniya locally. In 2023, he was conferred the title of Professor Emeritus by the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. He is currently also the abbot of Hong Kong Aloka Vihara and Honorary Rector, International Buddhist College in Thailand.  

Venerable has been engaged in Buddhist research and teaching in both English and Chinese for over 30 years, with his studies on the “Sarvastivada Abhidharma” being at the forefront of international Buddhist scholarship.

Profile:

Bro. Ghatikara Loo, a native of Kuala Lumpur, began his journey with the Dhamma while studying in Singapore where he was first exposed to Buddhist teachings. His passion for the Dhamma flourished upon his return to Malaysia, where he was guided by Ven. Suvanno and Ven. Dhammavuddho. His focus later gravitated towards Early Buddhism and the Pali Canon after meeting Ayasma Aggacitta and Ayasma Ariyadhammika, who encouraged him to study the suttas directly. Beyond his personal enjoyment of reading the suttas and Dhamma books, he is deeply committed to supporting the bhikkhu Sangha and the Buddha Sasana to ensure the preservation and longevity of the true Dhamma.

Profile:

Bro. Tan Siang Chye is a highly respected Buddhist teacher and a diligent practitioner of the Satipaṭṭhāna method of meditation. He has a long history of dedicated service, including roles as Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the Buddhist Missionary Society Youth Section at Brickfields Maha Vihara, and as an EXCO member of the parent body, BMS.

In 2014, Bro. Tan was appointed Director of Nalanda Institute Malaysia, and in 2016, he became a lay advisor to the EXCO of the Subang Jaya Buddhist Association. He is an active Dhamma speaker, sharing his insights in Malaysia and Singapore. His talks frequently focus on the practical application of Dhamma in daily life and its transformative power. Before retiring in 2017, Bro. Tan was a senior academic at Taylor's University.

Biodata:

Born in Bangkok, Ven. Ajahn Golf was ordained as a Buddhist monk in the forest tradition of Dhammayut lineage in Udon Province at the age of 20. Thereafter, he has practised under various meditation masters in Udon, Sakon Nakhon, Khon Kaen, and Nong Bua Lamphu. 

Tan Ajahn has 19 Vassa and is the abbot of Wat Pa Anuttaro Temple in Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Ven Ajahn Golf has been practising diligently for many years in the forest. He started to teach Dhamma only after he had sufficient understanding and confidence to teach the Dhamma correctly.

Ajahn Golf 在曼谷出生,於20岁在泰国东北部 Udon 府的法宗部森林传承出家,出家后跟随 Sakon Nakhon, Khon Kaen, Nong Bua Lamphu 府等大师父参学, 至今19个戒腊, 现时常住 Nong Bua Lamphu 府的 Wat Pa Anuttaro 寺, 并担任住持。早期静修多年, 直到觉得对佛法有足够的了解, 且有信心教导得正确, 才开始教导大众.

About Dr. Rudy BW

Dr Rudy BW obtained his degree of Sarjana Kedokteran (Bachelor of Medical Science) from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia, in 1995, where he completed his Clinical Internship and graduated in 1998 with MD (Medical Doctor).

From 2001 to 2005, he did postgraduate training in Internal Medicine at various Teaching Hospitals in Singapore, including the Singapore General Hospital, National Heart Centre, Changi General Hospital, and National Neuroscience Institute (SGH Campus). He has been working at the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Cardiology Department since 2006. He is also an American Heart Association certified instructor for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) since 2015.

In 2021, he attended an 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) workshop at the University of California, San Diego, US.

About Ven. Ajahn Dton

Ajahn Maha Dton Dhirapanno (b. 1967, Chonburi, Thailand), also known as Dhirapanno Bhikkhu, is a respected Thai Forest Tradition teacher. A former paediatrician, he studied in Thailand and the US (Children’s Hospital of Michigan, 1994–97), earning the Best of Hospitality award. After a transformative meditation retreat with Ajahn Jayasaro, he ordained at Wat Pah Nanachat, Thailand, and achieved the "Maha" title for advanced Pali studies. Now co-abbot of Wat Pah Boon Lorm, Ubon, he advises hospitals, schools, and government bodies, and leads Dhamma talks and retreats globally. As a visiting monastic at Bandar Utama Buddhist Society, he inspires spiritual growth and compassion.

Join us for a day dedicated to Sanghanussati – the recollection of the noble Sangha – through meditation, chanting, Dhamma reflections, and acts of gratitude. This is a time to reflect on the beauty and strength of the monastic and spiritual community that preserves and shares the Dhamma.

Myanmar Earthquake Relief Support

As we celebrate this meaningful day with our Teachers from the Burmese Forest Tradition, let us also remember the Monastics and lay communities whose lives are affected by the recent earthquake in Myanmar.

Support is much needed to help in relief efforts for the monasteries and the lay people affected by the earthquake. We will be sharing merits with the victims and families of those affected on this meaningful occasion.

Biodata:

Ven. Ajahn Martin was born in Stuttgart, Germany, in 1957. He studied electrical engineering and went to the USA to extend his studies in computer engineering with a Fulbright scholarship. He discovered meditation at the end of the 1980s and started living in various Theravada monasteries in England and Germany.

He arrived at Wat Pa Baan Taad under Luang Ta Mahā Bua, Thailand, and was ordained as a Buddhist monk in December 1995 in the forest monastery. Ajahn Martin went on tudong for 2-5 months each year and meditated 14 hours every day. He stayed at Wat Pa Baan Taad for many years and in the jungles of Thailand for over 20 years in the Thai Forest Tradition. 

In 2004, Ven. Ajahn Paññavaddho, who was responsible for instructing Western/ foreign lay visitors at Wat Pa Baan Taad, passed away. The teaching responsibility of lay visitors was then shared between Ven Ajahn Dick and Ven. Ajahn Martin. After Ven. Ajahn Dick left the monastery in 2007, Ven. Ajahn Martin carried the sole responsibility of teaching lay visitors the Dhamma and meditation. 

He is currently the Abbot of Wat Phu Khong Tong in Nong Bua Lam Phu province.

Biodata:

Born in 1970, Ven. Dhammasiri started practising Mahàyàna Buddhism in 1986. He was ordained as a Mahàyàna Bhikku whilst studying and working for a few years in a Buddhist University in Taiwan in 1993.

In 1997, Ven. Dhammasiri was ordained as a Theravàda Bhikkhu under the Ajahn Mun tradition, spending his first Vassa with Ajahn Ganhah and his second Vassa in Pa Auk Tawya Monastery. Due to poor health, he disrobed in 1999. He was re-ordained as a ten-precept Anàgàrika by Most Ven. Na-Uyane AriyaDhamma MahaThera in Sri Lanka, and by the end of 1999, he received Sàmanera ordination under the preceptorship of Most Ven. K. About Luang Por Sorasak

Luang Por Sorasak Jotiko is 71 years old with 41 vassa (Ordained at Wat Asokaram, Samut Prakaan Province). In late December 1984. Luang Por went to stay with Than Phor Fuang Jotiko at Wat Dhammasathit in Rayong Province

When Than Phor Fuang passed away in 1986, he moved to spend the rains retreat with Luang Phor Den at Ban Huai Pla Lot, Dan Mae Lamao Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province, among the Lahu (Muser) hill tribe.

A year later,  he relocated to Ban Muser Sam Muen Thung, Phawo Subdistrict, Mae Sot District and moved to Ban Lekho, Phawo Subdistrict, among the Karen hill tribe, where he has remained for 37 years.

Luang Por currently resides in Wat Pa Lekho, Phawo Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province.

His monastic journey reflects a deep commitment to the Dhamma and a life dedicated to serving the spiritual needs of the hill tribe communities.

Biography:

Venerable Digana Sugatavaṁsa Thero was born on November 16, 1981, in Sri Lanka. At the age of 16, he entered the order of Buddhist monks as a novice at the prestigious Galduwa Sri Kalyani Yogasramaya Monastery, in Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka under the preceptorship of Most. Venerable Kadawadduwe Sri Jinawansa Maha Thero and Most.Venerable Na-Uyane Ariyadhamma Maha Thero.

He received his higher ordination at the age of 20 and later reaffirmed his commitment by re-taking higher ordination on January 20, 2006, under the guidance of Ven. Devagoda Mangala Maha Thero and Ven. Na-Uyane Ariyadhamma Maha Thero.

Bhante has studied under many famous scholar monks in Sri Lanka and has gained proficiency in Vinaya (Monastic Discipline), Pali Language, and Abhidhamma. He has received the titles “Vinaya Visarada” (Expert in Vinaya) “ Abhidhamma Visarada” (Expert in Abhidhamma) and “Tripitakacariya” (Proficiency in all three baskets of the Pali Canon), from both Sri Kalyani Yogasrama Samstha and the Monk University of Sri Viddyodaya Parivena, Sri Lanka.

Bhante is fluent in Pali, Sinhala, and English.

Biodata:

Ven. Chao Khun Keng Khemako, born in 1964 in Singapore, is a monk of the Thai Forest Tradition. He was ordained in 1987 under the recommendation of Ajahn Thanissaro. One of his main teachers was Luang Pu Jiak Cundo, of the first generation of Ajahn Mun disciples. He received the title of Chao Khun in 2013. Currently, Chao Khun Keng is the Abbot of Santi Forest Monastery (JB); the Abbot of a hill-tribe forest monastery in Om Koi, Chiangmai; President of Palelai Buddhist Temple (Singapore); and Religious Advisor to various Buddhist organizations worldwide.
