On Friday, 16 January 2026, we invite you for a day of practice. There will be a Meal Dana at 10:00 AM to Ven. Ajahn Martin and Ven. Richard.
In the evening, Ven. Ajahn will give a Dhamma talk starting at 8:00 PM.
If you are offering food, please arrive 30 minutes before mealtime, and you are encouraged to stay for self practice in UBV until the evening Dhamma talk.
Biography:
Ven. Ajahn Martin is a highly respected senior monk and the current Abbot of Wat Phu Khong Tong in Thailand. Born in Germany in 1957, he was a computer engineer before ordaining in 1995 under the legendary Luang Ta Mahā Bua at Wat Pa Baan Taad. A dedicated practitioner of the Thai Forest Tradition, he spent over 20 years living in the jungles of Thailand, often meditating for 14 hours a day and undertaking annual tudong (forest wandering) for months at a time. Following the passing of Ajahn Paññavaddho in 2004, he took on the vital responsibility of instructing international visitors in Dhamma and meditation, becoming the primary teacher for foreign practitioners at Wat Pa Baan Taad for many years before moving to his current monastery.
