About Ven. Ajahn Kittisobhano (Bhante Huat Poh)

Born and raised in Penang, Ven. Ajahn was first introduced to Theravada Buddhism in his early teens, and his interest and practice of the Dhamma steadfastly progressed as he grew into adulthood. Finding his true calling, he decided to give up his career as an engineer to go forth.

On 13 June 2005, he was ordained in the Dhammayut Thai forest tradition in the Province of Chiangrai, Thailand. He spent the past 14 years in the deep forest of Omkoi in Northern Thailand, supported by a nearby tribal village for his basic living needs.

In 2020, a sense of filial duty called him back to Malaysia to care for his ailing father. Since his return, Ven. Ajahn has been sharing the Dhamma to promote better understanding and inspire many to understand and walk the Path that leads to liberation.
