Biography

Luang Por Sophon is currently the Abbot of Wat Bueng Latthiwan in Ayutthaya, Thailand. Known for his serene presence, Luang Por is 81 years old with 58 vassas. Luang Por went forth into the monastic life out of gratitude to his late parents. He travelled and lived in Wat Nong Pah Pong with Luang Por Chah before Luang Por Chah sent him to set up Wat Bueng Latthiwan, which is the 20th branch monastery of Wat Nong Pah Pong. As a monastic trained in the Luang Por Chah tradition, Luang Por Sophon emphasizes cultivating virtue and focusing on the practical application of the Dhamma.
