BUBS would like to thank all participants of the 2022 Fellowship cum Kathina Trip to Sasanarakkha Buddhist Sanctuary, Taiping - BUBS very first trip since the pandemic. It was a memorable spiritual and educational bonding session for everyone.

BUBS Kathina Donation Disbursement

We are pleased to inform you that through your generosity, we have collected RM 29413.00 in our recent call for Kathina 2021 Donation.

BUBS will top up the donation to RM30,000.00 from our Sangha Dayaka Fund.

With this we are pleased to share that we will be disbursing RM10,000.00 to each of the 3 monasteries/temples listed below:

  1. Sāsanārakkha Buddhist Sanctuary, Taiping Perak

  2. Sri Jayanti Buddhist Temple, Sentul KL

  3. Santi Forest Monastery, Ulu Tiram Johor

The event started with chanting followed by liberation of the live fish into the creek. Dedication and sharing of merits was done with all who participated for the benefit for all beings. Followed by a breakfast picnic.

Ajahn Chandako

Ven. Ajahn Chandako

Ven. Ajahn Chandako is an American who has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Comparative Religions. He was ordained as a Buddhist monk in 1990 in the Thai Forest Tradition in the lineage of Ven. Ajahn Chah. After practicing intensive meditation in various monasteries in Thailand and travelling extensively in Tibet, Nepal and India, he settled at Wat Pah Nanachat in Thailand, the monastery established by Ven. Ajahn Chah for his English-speaking disciples. He translated many of the teachings into English and is also the author of 'A Honed and Heavy Ax: Samatha and Vipassana in Harmony.' In recent years, he has taught internationally and is currently the abbot of Vimutti Forest Monastery, near Auckland, New Zealand, which he established in 2004.
