Biography
Luang Ta Siri Indasiri is a respected elderly Thai Theravada Buddhist meditation master and dharma teacher residing at Wat Tham Pha Daeng Pha Nimit in Khon Kaen Province, Thailand. Born on May 13, 1944, he worked as a school teacher and principal and raised a family before fully dedicating his life to monastic ordination at age 49 in 1993.
Luang Ta was connected to Buddhism and meditation early in life as a relative and follower of the revered forest monk Luang Pu Kamdee Paphaso.
He took final monastic vows on August 1, 1993, at Wat Tham Phapu, after providing for his wife and children and resigning from his secular career.
During his monastic life, he was known for strict ascetic discipline, spending decades focused intensely on meditation and teaching mindfulness.
